Dancing On Ice with Yardley London

Christmas is a-coming and the goose is getting fat! The Smith & Monger tree is up and twinkling, much to the amusement of Winston, our office pooch, and this weekend saw S&M’s Emma and Laurel play Santa to a selection of beauty bloggers at Yardley London's Christmas Blogger Event.

Along with Karen Cullen from Yardley London, the girls headed off to face their fears at the Natural History Museum’s Christmas Ice Rink for an afternoon of skating along with Fei Zhang from Peonies & Lilies, Jen Riley from Beauty Junkie London and Katie Snooks from Katie’s Beauty Blog. Here at Smith & Monger we love interacting with the bloggeratti and wanted to treat them to something a little different for the festive season.

Despite the, ahem, somewhat amateur status of the group, the girls managed not to crash/fall over/break any bones and after an hour of skating retired to the café bar for hot chocolate, hot apple cider and cakes to learn all about Yardley and Woods of Windsor’s new Christmas gifts with a presentation from Karen and a goody bag of festive favourites to take home and sample for themselves!  

At the Aesthetic Awards 2011 with SkinCeuticals

Kicking off the festive season, a glamorous 007 themed night was enjoyed by the Smith & Monger team at the illustrious Cosmetic News Aesthetic Awards 2011 with the cream of the industry...and what a successful night it was too. 

We were thrilled to be guests of our fabulous client SkinCeuticals to witness them scoop an impressive run of no less than five Aesthetic Awards! 

These included both Pigment Regulator and Phloretin CF winning Gold for the ‘Consumer Choice Award for Best Product’ and ‘Best Selling Retail Product’ respectively, whilst an additional Silver award for Pigment Regulator for ‘Best Product Innovation’ shows how it is fast gaining a reputation as a hero product amongst consumers, beauty editors and the industry. 

This follows some exceptional results for SkinCeuticals which has seen a 200% increase in the amount of media coverage this year compared to 2010, with a growing and loyal fan base of key opinion leaders from leading make-up artist Jemma Kidd to actress Sienna Miller, model Tali Lennox and more.

If that wasn’t enough, winning Bronze for Sheer Mineral Defense as the ‘Best Newcomer’ and Bronze for the ‘Cosmeceutical of the Year’ was the veritable icing on the cake and demonstrates just what a sterling job the beauty team are doing in getting the SkinCeuticals name out there to the right people and in the right places.

 

Smith & Monger couldn’t be more delighted for two luminaries of the industry – Esther Fieldgrass and the superb EF Medi Spa for winning Gold for Best Clinic Chain and Dr Stefanie Williams who picked up Gold for Best Clinic (3 rooms or less) for the excellent European Dermatology London – both great advocates of SkinCeuticals.

Thanks to Vicky Eldridge and the Cosmetic News team for a wonderful evening. A special mention must also go to the fantastic team at SkinBrands, who won Bronze for ‘Best Customer Service’ and to Clinica Fiore who achieved a nomination having only launched this summer. Despite not taking home an award this year, we’re certain they will go on to achieve great things. 

Awards over and big smiles on everyone’s faces, it was S&M’s turn to show everyone what they do best and hit the dance floor...
